If apps on your Samsung Tizen TV won’t update in Ireland, turn on Auto Update, try Reinstall, reset Smart Hub after confirming the account/store region is Ireland, and stabilise the network (5 GHz non-DFS or Ethernet). Lawful use only.
Quick wins
- Home → Apps → Settings → Auto Update = ON
- Home → Apps → RTÉ Player/your app → Reinstall
- Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now
- Settings → General → System Manager → Samsung Account = Ireland; if changed, Reset Smart Hub
- Connect TV to 5 GHz on 36/40/44/48 @ 40 MHz or use Ethernet
Step-by-step (Ireland)
- Update TV firmware: Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now.
- Enable Auto Update: Home → Apps → Settings (⚙) → Auto Update = ON.
- Reinstall the app: Home → Apps → find the app → Options → Reinstall (or Remove → Install).
- Confirm Ireland region: Settings → General → System Manager → Samsung Account (Ireland). If you previously used another region: Settings → General → System Manager → Reset Smart Hub (sign-in required again).
- Stabilise network:
- Wi-Fi: join 5 GHz; router on 36/40/44/48 with 40 MHz; split SSIDs.
- Ethernet: wire the TV or a wired mesh node to the router.
- Reboot everything: power off TV & router 10–20s; power on; retry updates.
Ireland-specific tips
- DFS (52+) can hop due to radar; use 36/40/44/48 on match day.
- If an app is “not available in your region,” Smart Hub/account region is not set to Ireland.
- Avoid service-menu region hacks or sideloads; stick to the official Samsung (IE) store.
Troubleshooting
“Update failed” or stuck at 0%
Switch to Ethernet or lock Wi-Fi to 36/40/44/48 @ 40 MHz; then reinstall the app.
App missing from store
Reset Smart Hub and sign in with a Samsung Account set to Ireland. Reboot the TV.
Auto Update keeps turning off
After firmware update + Smart Hub reset, set Auto Update = ON again; ensure enough free storage by removing unused apps.
